So, obviously you also want to know how to burn 3x more fat in less than 20 minutes. I stumbled on this method when I was doing research for my graduate work on elite cyclists. It turns out that high intensity interval training has several advantages; primarily it promotes fat burning far better and more efficiently than long steady state cardio exercise.
You may or may not have heard of interval training. Basically, interval training is high intensity bouts of exercise immediately followed by a very low intensity exercise bout. You could say that you are exercising the extremes.
For example, sprint at 90% to 100% of your maximum for 20 seconds and then immediately slow down and walk for 10 seconds. Repeat this pattern for 4 minutes and you have just completed what was made famous by a Japanese researcher named Tabata.
In his 6 week study, he compared a group of college students that exercised for 1 hour at 70% of their maximum 5 days a week to another group that exercised at 100% for 20 seconds followed by 10 second rest 4 days a week. They completed 8 sets that lasted 4 minutes total.
The results showed that the high intensity group improved not only their anaerobic energy efficiency but also their aerobic capacity. The 70% group improved in aerobic capacity but not as much as the high intensity group.
Numerous other studies show that high intensity exercise sessions are more efficient at burning fat for longer throughout the day.
In the following days of this mini course I am going to site many research articles and reports that support the study by Tabata and his group.
I will also recommend excellent exercise programs that will outline exactly what you need to do on a daily basis to burn fat and lose the weight that you want to get rid of.
Train Fast! Train Hard!
